Care & Handling:
Handmade bags, especially those with hand-painted artwork require a little extra love to keep the colours vibrant and the fabric in shape.
- Washing Instructions
- Spot Clean First: If you get a small mark on the bag, try cleaning it with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent with soft toothbrush. Avoid scrubbing the painted area directly.
- Hand Wash Only: If the whole bag needs cleaning, hand wash it in cold water. Do not soak it for long periods.
- Mild Detergent: Use a gentle, bleach-free soap. Avoid harsh chemicals that can break down the paint binders.
- Drying & Ironing
- Air Dry: Never put a hand-painted bag in the dryer. Lay it flat or hang it to air dry away from direct, intense sunlight (which can fade the colours over time).
- Ironing: If the canvas gets wrinkled, iron on the reverse side (inside out).
- Everyday Use
- Avoid Overloading: While canvas is sturdy, excessive weight can strain the hand-stitched seams or distort the shape of the bag.
- Storage: Store it in a cool, dry place. If you aren't using it for a while, stuffing it lightly with tissue paper will help it maintain its shape.
